Swadner Woods
This 29-acre stand of hardwood forest is one of the best remaining examples of mature hardwood forest left in Richland County or surrounding counties. It is known for its dense population of large trees that branch out about fifty feet or more above the ground, creating a cathedral-like effect.
This acquisition was made possible through the generosity of the Carl Swadener Estate, the Fran and Warren Rupp Foundation, the Richland County Foundation, and many individuals in the Mansfield area.
